While the game itself wasn't the greatest, it still had its "fear / frag flare" to it. Now true even though the graphics weren't the best, it was still a fun game to play, mostly for passing time. But unfortunately it had too much of a "Doom" look / feel for me. When I first played it I was hoping for a good challenge, but only found another First Person shooter with AI that could use a Human Brain instead of a computers.
But as I stated before, the replay value to me was its saving grace. If your looking for a game to pass the time or want a taste of the past with out playing doom. Try Daikatana.
The story line unfortunately, from what I can remember, sucked. Personally I would have chosen an unused storyline, instead of the same "It’s up to YOU, to save the world / Galaxy" scenario. They are used way to much and a fresh or twist on that story would in my opinion made the game more tolerable.
But remember that this game was like Doom and Wolfenstien 3d, both great games, and I think that with Daikatana, if a little bit more time and better technology could
of been applied to it, this would of been a great game for everyone. Though the game play was too much like Unreal, while Unreal remains a great game even today, Daikatana just seemed like it had copied off of previous games, compacted all the content into one game and tried to pass it off as being unique.
