As you might have guessed this is Doctor Who! Well it you would think this is doctor who. This game has more in common with Duke Nukem, I mean the old Nukems not the 3d ones than Doctor Who. Still it makes for a fun game.
The game centers around you playing the doctor, in either his second, forth or seventh incarnation. You will have to go through cities fighting off Daleks, dinosaurs and other horrible things with your sonic screwdriver which can be upgraded to become a laser.
You can get assistance from a friend in a two player mode which allows them to play the Brigadier or Ace. The multiplayer option does not work very well as I recall only one person can be focused on at a time so it becomes more of an annoyance than a fun feature. K9 shows up in later levels but is usually immobilized by if you leave the area, shame.
The game can get a bit repetitive at times but there are lots of fun things to discover such as hidden bridges in the sky which lead to power ups for your health and weapons.
The weapons are not bad, well it’s the same weapon but with modification to the firing. It’s also possible to get hand

grenades, brilliant for taking out daleks with their armour and ‘smart bombs’ which destroyed most things on screen in one mighty hit. Except bosses that is.
I recall this gaming being almost impossible because of these bosses. As you are only given a limited number of lives, three, in which to defeat the whole game. It is possible to pick new ones up but with most of the power ups being hidden on invisible bridges (they do appear when you find them and stand one them, who invents such a thing?) or under chairs or in fire places. Who hides jelly babies in fireplaces? Daleks.
I recall this game being a lot of fun when I was younger but then I had nothing but time to sit around and play at it. To progress to further levels it was necessary to have the instruction manual but I’m sure this is available to download somewhere if not with this download.
If you like who then you should get this and you might enjoy it. For those who enjoy side scrolling shooters I think there might be enough here for you to enjoy as who.
