Game Review 1 (written by Drderekstiles) Added on: 08/23/2008
When I first played this game, I was mystified. The sprites, the gameplay, it kept me happy and busy for hours. This game has rusted a little since then, but it still keeps it charm.
The cartoonish look of it combined with some of the humor make a good pair. The level designs also had its own personal charm, each one was different from the other, and it kept you from getting bored from a lack of creativity.
Jim's character design is just hilarious.
A worm in a spacesuit fighting off evil, and combined with the save the puppy levels provided a break in action from the run and gun gameplay.
The whip attack was useful in many ways, from a melee strike, to a grappling hook. The weapon selection wasn't bad either. Each weapon has its own use, and ability. The house bomb was pretty funny to use. My favorite was the plasma type one, but ammo was scares for it, so I never got to use to satisfaction. Some bosses were creatively designed, like the newspaper room boss, and some ere just funny, like the goldfish. I only got to play the game for a short while, but in that time I played, I enjoyed it.

better games out, but there are many worse. Character designs are creative, weapons are funny, level designs are good, but the gameplay is the major flaw. It was just too easy. You could run though an entire level without even taking damage pretty easily. I managed to take out some of the later bosses without taking damage. The difficulty is only a minor complaint. Otherwise, this is a clever gem that is worth a playthrough. The enemy designs varied from level to level, which gave the feeling you were actually going from world to world, instead of just going to a new area with the same enemies. Platforming in this game is a bit lacking, but isn't a major gameplay element.
The humor is cleverly executed without going straight for the potty jokes, like some other games. Controls are easy to pick up, gameplay is simple enough to be entertaining without seeming menial, the difficulty is perfect for young children, and all in all, this game is worth a playthough. I highly suggest you take this game for a spin. You wouldn't regret it in any way, shape, or form afterwards.

Game Review 2 (written by Am379102) Added on: 02/09/2007
Earthworm Jim 95 is great! I thought Jim was a very funny character. It was kind of a hard game to at times, especially the levels where you had to keep getting all those little puppies into that one house; if you missed a lot, that dog's name, I believe it was Peter Puppy, would get so angry at you that he would beat, crush, and mangle you up for a few seconds. The way Jim cried "Woah!" whenever he got hit was funny too. Whenever you got killed, Jim would get electrocuted and his head would blast off his head and fall to the ground. Jim was a cartoon character, and the game itself was also played like a cartoon.
I loved in the first level where you had to keep dodging those old ladies as you rode up those stairs and if one came crashing down on you, they would always yell "Fresh!" and bash you on the head with their umbrellas. It was also funny when in that one level where you had to keep picking up those cows to open, or rather pull up, those doors in order for you to continue on your way. Jim is such a strong guy!
Another funny level is the one where Jim inflates his head with air and you have to guide him up words while avoiding light bulbs and cats which spat out arrows, or something at you.
This game was very funny. It’s my favourite game! I highly recommend it!
