Game Review (written by Basker101) Added on: 07/25/2008
Electro man always reminded me of Robocop. He is slow, clunky and cannot jump all too well. On the plus side, he has some nice fire power capabilities. As a kid, I remember this game being hard and ridiculously addictive. When you died you would either restart the whole game or appear at a special marker. And it’s easy to assume you’re going to die a lot before finishing this game. I am proud to say I have, though.

Electroman is naturally for those hardcore precision gamers, I haven’t yet seen a speed run for it but I am pretty sure it would be interesting to say the least.
And because some of the save points are so far apart from each other, you end up doing certain things in the game which become natural. After awhile you end up speed running yourself just so you can get to the next save point without wasting your whole day doing the same thing.

All levels are stimulating but some of the ways you can die literally slap you in the face. The whole game is one large level designed to intertwine on itself. During early parts of the game you will see sections you cannot get into. Later on in the game, after much deliberation, you will get to these places and truly see how much time you have taken just to transcend

a wall!

In the end, the game is a great game. It is definitely a challenge and it was a triumph to finish the game. I guess somewhere down the line when I hit my midlife crisis I can crack open DOS Box and play Electroman just to unlock the good old days of my youth.

The game itself is fairly visually appealing, considering it dates back in the Apogee era. The game itself ran well, and the bugs you find through out the game just makes things a little more fun. From my knowledge there was one where Electroman's head would get stuck in the roof after teleporting, and the other was from a certain distance you can fall into the floor. Just go nuts with Electroman acrobatics and I'm sure you will find a few more. None of the glitches impeded the game play and Electroman was just a plain fun deal. It is recommended to everybody and I hope they all get addicted, just like I did, so that I don't feel so bad.
