Game Review (written by Maliki_dering) Added on: 12/23/2006
Gal Pani X is an enjoyable anime game that uses the old classic Qix as a foundation. As in the original, you are a small diamond that must cut out as much area as you can without running into the monster of the level. However, Gal Pani X brings much more to the table than the original Qix. Instead of a floating polygon, the enemies of Gal Pani X are such oddities as Teddy Bears or yellow smiling blobs, and can now also fire projectiles which you must avoid.

In Gal Pani X, you are a diamond that must clear each level of as much background as you can by cutting it out with the Z button on your keyboard. You start each level in the confines of a randomly sized box, and you are not able to leave the box unless you cut your way out. In each level, there is an anime woman under neat the background, and you get bonuses for clearing one hundred percent of her before you run out of time. You can kill the enemies by cutting a box around each of them; but each level also has its own boss. You can quickly beat each level by cutting a box around the boss of

the level. (When you do cut a box around the boss, the back ground of the entire level is cleared except for what is inside the box.)
With the addition of more challenging enemies, Gal Pani X also brings power ups to the table. When you kill an enemy by clearing the space around him, a power up will appear where he died. There are three different power ups and one power down; Speed up, which makes your diamond cursor travel faster across the level, a bomb up, which adds another explosive bomb to your arsenal, a shield up, which will take one strike from an enemy for you before disappearing, and finally the speed down, just the opposite of the speed up and extremely detrimental to your abilities to clear the board.
Gal Pani X also introduces bombs into game play. When you feel that there are too many enemy projectiles on the level, you can press the X button on your keyboard to fire a bomb. Your bomb will then clear the entire level of ALL projectiles, but will not harm the enemies.
I believe Gal Pani X is as worthwhile as it is addictive. The game itself has only soft core pornography in it, but the game play leaves you no time to admire it.
