Game Review (written by Mlp9141984) Added on: 07/31/2006
About Mario 1. Mario 1 is the most popular game that ever hit stores. It was made in 1985 and was the most played game in history. It is a 2 players game. You go through each level jumping or shooting the bad guys with flower power. There are 4 levels to each world. Like 1'4 2'4. Each 4th board is a castle board with king koopa at the end. Once you get up higher in boards the castle start getting harder.
Koopa starts throwing hammers at you and has fire balls that jump up and down to help kill you. Some of the higher castle boards are mazes. This means you have to go the right way or you won’t find koopa. There are a total of 32 boards on Mario 1. And some boards you can get 100 guys if you know how to do it correctly. I will not explain how you will do that. That's something you must find out on your own or ask a friend. There are hidden blocks on the game that have coins inside of them. Like a lot of the newer games, Mario is a game ‘if you get 100 coins you get an extra

life’. After beating Mario 1 you will be able to play it again, but only with harder enemies. The little devils aren't on the game anymore, they turn into the black koopa looking things you will see on higher boards. The enemies also move much quicker. You can get flower power from jumping into the blocks that have in them. First you will get a mushroom and then you will get a flower, the flower allows you to shoot enemies. You can't kill all the enemies with the flower power but you can kill most of them. You can also find boxes and other things you can stand on to get extra guys. Just jump around and there could be a hidden extra guy. You can't see the boxes, but on some boards they're really there, just invisible. You can hit boxes for stars. Stars allow you to kill the enemies. You can kill every enemy on the game with a star, except for koopa. You don't get starts on the castle boards. There are pipes that you can go down as well. You cannot go down every pipe, but you can go down some. You can also find extra guys beside pipes. You have to once again jump up all around the pipe. They could be beside the pipe or right above the pipe. There are many hidden things on Mario 1 that not a lot of people know about. So just go have fun and play Mario 1 for regular nintendo. It's extremely fun!

I don't think I ever found a mario game I didn't like, the simplicity of the game play and the quirkyness of the action was always a winner.
