Who doesn’t remember wasting hours of their youth playing this game? After the first Mario Brother’s came out, I was sure they couldn’t make those little red and green plumbers any more entertaining, but I was wrong, because Mario and Luigi came into existence. Yes, for the first time we get to see both names grace the title.
Mario and Luigi are still taking sweet hours away from my life, with its constant addicting “save the princess” plot, and I love every bit of it.

Mario and Luigi are still taking sweet hours away from my life, with its constant addicting “save the princess” plot, and I love every bit of it. Plus you have the bonus of the fire balls in full color as these heroic brothers shoot them from their noses (yes, that’s not really where it’s coming from, but it was what I assumed when I was younger).
Basically this game is just
like the original Mario Brothers, with better graphics and color, and it lacks the charm of the hyperactive dinosaur friend Yoshi consuming your enemies and turning them into eggs (how does that work again? And isn’t Yoshi a boy? Eggs?).
Despite what it does lack in plot and dinosaur friends, this game will still keep you entertained on end, and is more than worth the download. After all, who actually does have the original nowadays? Downloading it, ensures the Mario-influenced generation of tomorrow when you force your kids to play along, despite what anyone else might say.
I mean, it is fairly easy for them to learn, and who says Mario can’t teach the essentials anyway? I say that they can learn just as much from Mario as they can from school, but don’t take my word on it.
I personally blame games like Mario and Luigi for my slight obsession with video games, it was hard not to get addicted or have that theme song stick in your head at all odd hours of the night. I believe addiction is a better word for my case now that I mention it actually, and I’m sure I’m not alone in this assumption either.
Despite my constant rambling, I do think this classic game is just that, a classic, every house-hold needs a copy. Like traditions, even if you never use it, mention it, you should still have it for the joy of having it. It is in all mentions of the definition, timeless. And I will defend it to the death.
So download today kids, and spread the love of plumbers with big dreams everywhere!
