Monster bash is a large rang of monster from the strange rock monsters to the slime dripping undead. there are 3 levels of difficulty which can be chosen from the beginning of the game. Throughout the game you can
acquire stone powerups which increase the size and damage of your rocks, also increasing the amount shot at one time. your main objective in each level is to release caged dogs from their cages. They are usually scattered around the level and some may require backtracking. Health packs can also be picked up which heals Johnny on his quest.
The Graphics are Fairly good for their time, only requiring 286 and 640kb's of ram and 256 colors, The game can run on advanced computers such as XP/Vista computers, but requires you to download an emulation program. The game can get frustrating though, if you keep getting stuck at one particular section, I found myself repeating the same part. trial and error. along the way you will encounter puzzles which you will need to figure out in order to save all the dogs. From picking up glass jugs to watering plants. There are also many secret hidden places which can be found by searching the surrounding areas. At the end you return home to your bedroom, but there still more to the story.
Monster Bash does have a sequel but isn't as fun as the first part. the game goes have its ups and downs but I feel the game deserves a score of around 8/10 a great classic along side Duke Nukem and Halloween Harry. This game is recommended for children above the age of 8 and has a Low level of animated Violence. Also has the tendency to become addictive and could take over you soul.
