This game will take you back to a time when entire afternoons were lost to the local arcade. Moon Patrol was definitely a staple at arcades across the country in the early 80s. This game is simple, the graphics are smooth and the game-play is ultra addictive. I can remember hours spent jumping craters and shooting on coming alien crafts, while all the time avoiding bombs from the UFOs above.
Each level the game gets a little bit harder, how long can you play on a single quarter? That was the great thing about Moon Patrol in the arcade, you could play forever, and I mean forever on this game.

Each level the game gets a little bit harder, how long can you play on a single quarter? That was the great thing about Moon Patrol in the arcade, you could play forever, and I mean forever on this game. Remember when you were 15 with only two dollars in your pocket
and entire day to kill. But this game was not only about value, it was also about that elusive high score. Getting the high score on this machine required a serious commitment. I can remember playing one game for what seemed like hours, the high score coming ever closer, and all I could think of was I couldn't mess up now, not when I'm this close to teenage immortalism. Adrenaline pulsed through my veins, sweat gathered on my brow and I could sense tension in the crowd that had gathered around. And all this for a quarter, what a deal.
Well that was 20 years ago now, and while today’s generation plays Play station 3 or Xbox 360, nothing will ever compete with the feeling Moon Patrol provided. Sure the graphics have improved by leaps and bounds and today’s games are significantly more complex. In fact the youth of today wouldn't even waste their time scoffing at Moon Patrol and it's brotheren. But for us old timers who grew up in a time when arcades were the place to be, Moon Patrol is a must play. It's the same nostalgic feeling you get when you hear a great song from your youth. This is more than just another video game; it's a time capsule that will transport you back to a time when the high score meant everything.
Ever wonder if you've still got that magic touch? That simple yet elusive sense of timing. I know I do, and I can't to download this game and let the good time roll once again.
