Obake is one of the best games I have found in the multitude of amazing games I have come across on this site. It's very reminiscent of the nintendo game character Kirby.
In Obake you're a ghost and can basically possess the characters and gain their specific attributes. The controls in this game are a little wonky to figure out, because all instructions and storyline are in Japanese. However the basic controls are SPACE to pause or bring up the menu for your character (possessed or not), The Z button is your jump button, The X executes the power of your current possessed character, and the C button "un" possesses you.
The story line involves something about the main ghost character, who I believe is named Obake, to either rescue his father from something, or he's simply having to take over his father's reign, anyway it ends in an intense battle with two ghosts.
Overall the game play is amazing in my opinion, I became so quickly addicted to the game that I spent most of my nights just sitting at my computer and trying to beat every level. Some of the levels are a bit ridiculously hard, and took me a good 30 tries or something to that affect, and I still haven't beaten the end.
Even if you do beat the whole game storyline wise, there's lots of side things to do, like
there are these special G coins, that you can go and collect in every level usually in a very difficult position, but who knows what happens at the end, and I won't spoil it for you, because I don't know yet myself.
All of the random powers you get from the characters are quite intriguing, some of them have 3 powers, or 2, or just are really small. The game requires you to utilize all of the varying creatures, to say get through a small hole, or to mass destruct a wall. Some even have you climb up vertically on a wall, or the most ridiculous one has you invert the entire game play upside-down with a unique double jump.
Overall I would say this was the most fully entertaining game I have downloaded on this site, and I would recommend it to anybody, especially anybody who used to be addicted to the fun powers that were in kirby too. Of course it doesn't have the same nostalgia. But it's worth it.
