Pandemonium is a great 3D game, and has a unique camera which moves around the level with the player, enabling you to see some more of the map, along with any enemies coming forth towards you. You can play as either Nikki, the energetic woman, who’s special ability is to double jump (or somersault or flip, as some call it) to reach higher areas and coins, lives etc, or complete the game as the court jester, who is always armed with a staff with which he can attack enemies from a close distance, while Nikki must jump on their heads or use a power up, and if you don't like one player, you can alter who you play as between each level!
Lots of enemies inhabit the different levels, some take one hit to die, and some up to 3, yet each and every one are as deadly as the next.
Power ups will help you complete the game, and kill the enemies in your path. Some of the power ups include the shrink ray, and yes, you have already guessed what it does, shrink! And once they are small and tiny, you can simply walk over them, and kill them.
The fire power up is also very self explanatory, and it shoots a large ball of fire toward the threat, doing one point of damage to them, the same as jumping on their heads. The final power up is the ice freeze ray, which fires a clump of glassy ice to the enemy, freezing them, and enabling you to simply walk through, thus smashing, and of course killing, the opposition, which makes it the best
power up in my opinion.
The backing music makes game-play more interesting and fits well with the levels, and enemies make a satisfying crunch when you slaughter them, which always brings a smile to your face, ha-ha. The password system lets you resume where you left off, but only at the start of the level, so if you quit half way through a level, and resume say half an hour later with the password, you'll have to redo the level, which is a downside to the game. Another bad point, and this is probably the only other one, is that you have two hit points before you die, and have to restart the whole level again (unless you got a checkpoint that is).
Overall this game is one of the best plat-formers I have played in my life, and it is well worth the download.
