This is a retro game that will take you back to your days of youth; the kind of game that you found in an arcade or on the original old Atari system. My brother, sister and I loved playing this game as kids and it still holds true for today. In this game you are the PC-Bert character- a cute little orange creature with his funny long nose. You start out every game at the top of a pyramid constructed of stacked cubes.
Your goal is simple; you need to jump diagonally from cube to cube on the pyramid while being careful not to jump off the pyramid (resulting in instant death) or running into enemies.
Each time you jump on a cube it changes the color, and once all the cubes of the pyramid have been changed, the round ends and you go to the next level. You do, however, have obstacles to overcome if you want to successfully change the color of all the cubes. There is a purple coily snake that follows you around and purple creatures that go along the sides of the cubes. Coming into contact with any of these purple creatures results in death. Other enemies include the green gremlins that will revert the color change that you have made to the cube to thwart your efforts.
Another aspect to the game is that balls will bounce down from the top of
the pyramid. The red balls have the same affect as running into a purple coily snake and kill you; however the green balls freeze all of the enemies to give you a chance to jump on more cubes without harassment. Placed on either side of the pyramid are two spinning circular platforms that PC-Bert can jump on to escape his enemies, and be taken to the top of the pyramid? If you time it right you can get the purple coily snake to jump of the pyramid after you.
As you advance to higher levels in the game, the challenge increases, with more ferocious enemies, and more difficult tasks. The higher levels require multiple color changes for the cubes on the pyramid making it harder to finish the level. This is an easy to follow game with simple concepts based on one of the greatest classic video games of all time. It is great for kids, with no worries about violent or suggestive themes, and great for just old-fashioned arcade fun.
