Game Review (written by Archiangel) Added on: 09/25/2007
You don't need to understand French to enjoy what I consider the best of the "Breakout alikes" games ever made.
Like most Breakout type games there are a series of blocks that you attack with a ball using your "pong paddle," being careful not to let the ball get past your paddle or you lose a life. Unlike other Breakout type games, there are bonus upgrade pills that fall from the blocks as you hit them, which do various things to the pong paddle, the balls, or the environment depending on the letter on the "power up pill".
There is also the disadvantage of Monsters running around the screen that start to trickle down the screen as you free them by breaking bridks. If they touch your paddle you lose a life, but you can use your ball to destroy them before they destroy you. The best of these power up pills, for me, is the F pill that created a barrier on the bottom of the screen which allows you to miss the ball without dying, as it is a timed pill you can actually collect more F pills before the timer runs out thus "watching your back" with a constant barrier.

Another favourite power pill, the E, elongates the Paddle, and the T

pill gives 3 balls and if you get 3 T pills in a row you can have 9 balls flying around. The C power pill enables your paddle to Catch the ball and then use the space bar to launch it at your leisure. Note that you need to hit the middle of the paddle and not the blue edges for the ball to stick to the C paddle. Another really great and useful pill is the L pill that turns the paddle into a laser fighter that can blast the blocks and enemies with two lasers via pressing the space bar as fast as you can.

Remember that all pills are not helpful, and catching the A pill will not only undue any upgrades to the Paddle, but also free the enemies from the effect of the H pill that immobilized them for a time. It will also undo the barrier that the F pill makes (Many a time I was depending on the forcefield to bounce the ball back cause my fighter/paddle was on the other side of the screen ad I didn't see the A pill among the falling Debris and my fighter turns back into a paddle, the forcefield drops, and I die...in that order in 1/2 a second). To play F1 starts the game and then you type in a name of a player and press enter. If there is more than one player you type in the name and press Enter until there are no more players to be entered. Pressing the Enter key without typing a name officially starts the game

Controls are simple, the J key moves your paddle left, the K key moves your paddle right and the Space bar launches the ball. The space bar also works as the fire key and the relaunch key with certain power pills. Of course you can customize the control keys via pressing F5. F2 is for a demo, and F9 is to turn the sound off and on.
