Game Review 1 (written by Jungmo_91) Added on: 03/16/2009
The name of the game is “Round 42” and this game is quite old as you can see by the graphics and screenshots. Everybody could tell how old it is, but it can still bring nostalgic memories.
This game can be quite boring, but for those true gamers who are wise enough to enjoy low level games, they’ve got some good respects in themselves for playing games.
Similar to its names, this is a traditional space shooter that has 42 rounds of gun fight against the evil alien ships from the outer space.
Each stage or round of aliens got different sets of movement and laser shooting pattern. You have something of your own to kill these aliens. There are 2 attacks: auto fire cannon and a single fire target laser. The auto firing shooting attack has unlimited ammunition so you can fire easily.
The game background is quite colorful. For one thing, the back ground is black and the aliens are colored in varieties. Every time the aliens get destroyed with the laser shots, the disappearance of alien colors is quite amusing to observe. I say this is one of the best spaces invading type game.
This is also one of the freeware games that some gamers could really enjoy. The name is derived from the fact that
Round 42Round 42Round 42
there are 42 rounds of war against the alien ships. One airship verses many alien ships. It’s quite scary for this outnumbering of aliens on you but the computer intelligence is only limited and you have imagination of your own so you can devise a tactic of your own and destroy them all regardless of their numbers.
The game is not that hard to get adapted to. The movement keys are on the right side of the keyboard, the number pads where the arrows are. Attacking keys are F1 -normal bullets, and F2 for firing special weapon called the phasor. But the only thing for this special cannon is that it’s limited, which are shown as lightening bolts next to your score near the top of the screen. The way to recharge these special cannon is too simply by staying alive. Every 7500 points you earn, you are rewarded with these gifts as well as the beginning of each battle.
The game is fun and interesting and enjoyable. It is nice.

Game Review 2 (written by Viren315) Added on: 11/26/2006
I am crazy about it. The game is really very interesting and one will be addict after playing it. Even the school teachers were having addiction of playing Round 42. The game is DOS based and the sound and video graphics make the effect of virtual battle field. After clearing every round the difficulty level will go on increasing. The life and weapons will be added with score. The enemy ships attacks on your ship with different tricks in all levels. The arrow keys to be used to give a direction to ship. You have to pass through all 42 levels to get the winner title.
I can not describe all but the game fascinates the people of all age. Really very interesting and addictive game it is. The system requirement for the game is a general configuration of computers now a day.
The people who are addict of games like me should visit this website. They will get everything to play on it.
It’s my favourite game!!! It’s the best one I’ve ever played! I suggest it to everybody!

I love this game. I used to play it everyday, when I was between 7 and 10 years old. I have a terrible memory, BUT I BEAT ROUND 42! It was a beautiful game.

It's an addictive game all right! I'd get home from school, at night and play it until it was time to go to bed. The funny thing now, is I had a Tandy, with a 56K, hard drive.

Best space invaders game ever made, it is insanely difficult I never finished it even once. This thing is almost impossible

This is an excellent old dos game I've ever played! Uses a special screen mode on CGA boards that cannot be played on VGA boards. I don't know if this game's screen mode can be emulated on DOSBOX.
