Few games bring as much excitement as this. The first time I played, I was maybe six years old. It starts from a story that was originally told by Marvel. Particular notice goes to the title, which is misleading is--the plot of the comic book series Venom:Separation Anxiety involves Venom's five symbiote spawn attempting to force Eddie (without his symbiote) to help them communicate with their own symbiotes. This game follows more closely to a similar story told in Venom:Lethal Protector. Basically, the Life Foundation captured the criminal called Venom, and forced five symbiotes to spawn from him.
Before things could escalate farther, Venom escaped. Now he is moved to find his old foe Spider-Man, and forge a hardly peaceful alliance with the hero to stop these symbiotes and cure his Separation Anxiety.
This game has been and most likely will always be compared to Maximum Carnage. If you have ever played Maximum Carnage and enjoyed it, this is the game for you. The action cuts loose as you choose to play as either Spider-Man or Venom. You are constantly hunted by The Jury and the brotherhood of the five other symbiotes. Venom is not only fighting for himself, but, like Spider-Man, he knows that these creatures could cause massive damage. They know this due to the appearance of Carnage
in the series of comics and the Maximum Carnage video game that I already mentioned. Knowing the things that I have laid out here, it is easy to see how it gets the blood pumping. A hear attack is at almost every corner when the symbiotes attack.
There are quite a few cameo assistances from Captain America, Ghost Rider, Hawkeye, and Daredevil. It's a Beat 'Em Up knock out thriller for all that want to play. This game is also known for giving the names to Venom's children. Scream, perhaps the most popular, is one of the most deadly. Phage, Riot, Lasher, and Agony can stand their own as well. Sometimes itís hard to keep going, but this game is sure to entertain. I guarantee it.
While originally released in 1995, it is not held down by silly notions of contemporaries reality. It can be played at any time without the loss of feel. It's the adrenaline that gets you. Sure to entertain and to addict you from the very beginning.
