Game Review (written by Psaagar) Added on: 10/01/2006
This game is awesome! For once the sequel to a game surpasses the original. But be warned it can be really hard at some points, much like the original contra. The gameplay isn’t very long, skilled players should be able to beat the game in about 25 minutes. However this game has much lasting appeal, you will wanna beat it more than once. If you become good enough you might even be able to beat it without dying, this is a very tough task.
If you like the game for computer you should try to find it on a nes emulator. I personally found that playing the game on nes was more fun, but the computer version is still very good.
Now for a bit about the game, besides the fact that it is very cool. The game starts out simply enough as a 1 or 2 player side-scroller game where you run around killing bad guys. You can pick up items like different guns and bombs and one hit from anything will kill you. The first few levels seem normal as any other 1 - 2 player scroller games. But around the 5th level you will start to notice some weird things, like the fact

that you are fighting aliens. Those of you who are familiar with the contra series won’t be too shocked by this because all the contras do this. You eventually end up going to the alien mother base and beating up their precious queen.
Hints: the trick to this game is all about getting the right guns. The best gun is the "S" gun, which is the spread gun. Getting this gun is very essential, once you get it, try to stay alive so that you don’t lose it, you will need this gun a lot in the final levels. If you are playing 2 player, have one person get the spread and the other get the fire, "F". The fire gun can be charged by holding down the trigger button and it created a giant fire ball. The fire gun is needed to beat the final level when the wall collapses on you. Most bosses are pretty easy if you have these 2 guns. The final boss can be hard if you don’t know what to do. You can beat her with just a regular gun if you run right up to her legs and start firing diagonally upwards. You won’t get hit and you will kill her soon enough.
Enjoy.
