Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was the very first video game I played on my family's first computer back in the day. I was a huge Ninja Turtle fan. It was the greatest feeling to finally be in control of the TV characters. Although, this game was for children, I feel it was too difficult for kids.
Gameplay is pretty straight forward. Use the arrows to move, enter to jump and space bar to attack. The real trick in the game is getting the jumps down.
If you barely tap enter, you'll jump a little bit in the air, but you can cross large gaps. If you hit down hard on enter, you'll do a spinning jump up high in the air. So the key to the whole game is to get good with the Enter key, so you can hit it in the right time to make the jump. If you don't make it, you'll lose a turtle, and when all four are gone, it's game over. But Splinter tells you, on the pause screen, to find your friends on the level. So, everything is in your hands.
Another really fun element of gameplay is an ability to use almost all elements of the cartoon in the game. My,
particular favorite, was the turtle van, which you’ll get in the third level. It has guns and missiles to blow up tanks and obstacles, as well as being able to run over foot soldiers on the ground.
So in summary, TMNT is a very challenging game with varied gameplay and a very good relation to the TV cartoon. I'm very nostalgic with this game, since it was my favorite cartoon every Saturday morning. Just download this game and try it, I promise, you won't be disappointed!
