X-Men: The Ravages of Apocalypse is an interesting fight simulation but instead of taking on the role of the X-men you will actually be taking the role of the evil Magneto’s cyborgs. The X-Men have captured you. You will fight through six different levels to get to the Apocalypse and then another 5 levels to take out the Apocalypse’s ally. There is a multiplayer mode which will allow you to select from twelve different X-Men where you will play a Death match mode where you will use the character you’ve selected super powers.

There are a few weapons that are new to this game than the others. There is now a rocket launcher that shoots two rockets at a time and
X-Men: The Ravages of ApocalypseX-Men: The Ravages of Apocalypse
will also put a homing on the target you want to hit. There is a grenade launcher that shoots grenades. Lastly there is a super gun that will use a hundred cells but in the end will destroy anything near you. With the added weapons there was another change that was needed. The opponents have been created to be a little more difficult to kill. Bishop and Wolverine seem to be the ones that tend to take longest to kill. Two of the easier to defeat would happen to be Rogue and Storm.
The graphics have been done quite colourful and diverse compared to many other fighting games created in the past. There are a few different places where the battles take place, for example there is the pyramid, the suburbs, a power plant, and a few fortresses. The players themselves have been well done too, they look pretty much like the comic book characters, and they even have all their trademark weapons and snooty remarks.
This game has been a great twist to the regular X-Men series. With you playing on the other side you are getting another view of the X-Men trilogy getting to attempt the powers and abilities of the other side. This game can get quite difficult during some combats depending on the opponent you are competing. During the multiplayer mode you will get to experience every one of the available characters learning their moves and what they are capable of. This game has been well designed in numerous aspects and the level of difficulty will keep it challenging throughout the entire game play. X-Men: The Ravages of the Apocalypse is a great game for many age groups and if you’ve enjoyed many of the fighter simulation games created in the past you will surely love this one too.

Game Review 2 (written by Robsdd) Added on: 08/18/2006
I remember playing this game in quake and I still have the cd-rom add on , I am not sure I did not check if your site says it can be download but it was a fun only game too although compared to the newer quake 3 or UT2005 etc. It’s quake engine it uses it kind of outdate at this point also it seem to try and change stuff in plot just like that 3rd movie did to X-MEN, for example I did not like the fact that they killed main characters off in that movie, plus still they were missing that card player from the movie.
You are required to own Quake to Play this add on.
My favorite character in this game is the one with the Claws, some of the more known characters are in this game and some not so known characters are two its based on a old cased of X-MEN, they got one character in this game in which I never even heard of before, I think his name was canon , which is not in most of the more update to date x-men comics.
