Catapults is an arcade game that has you shooting rocks at a board against an opponent in an attempt to get four stones in a row. Much like the board game of Connect Four, you are also trying to stop your opponent from getting four in a row. While the computer is not the most difficult opponent, it can take a few games to get down the patterns you need to beat the game consistently.
There are two ways you can play the game.

There are two ways you can play the game. The first way is in the style of the classic Connect Four game. To win, you need to get four stones in a row before your opponent. This involves a lot of countering and planning, but as I wrote before,
it becomes second nature within a short period of time. The other way of playing the game is where you try to destroy your opponent's balls, random sheep running across the screen, and also trying to get four stones in a row (or in patterns). This is a more challenging version to play, but still nothing too complicated for your average problem-solver.
For a child, I think there is great potential of the game. The simple graphic and planning requirements would be great for a child in my opinion, and a good way for children to learn to plan ahead and try to predict outcomes. This game may not have a great level of entertainment for adults, but children should be able to get enjoyment out of it. After all, there is something appealing about launching a giant boulder that just screams fun to anyone, but most especially a child.
My final thoughts on the game are that it is worth having, especially if you have children, to play for a little bit once in a while. There is no chance you'll get sucked into the game and lose all track of time, but there is a good chance you will have a good time for a game or two.
