Game Review (written by Cobbler1975) Added on: 11/17/2006
It is back to the original Trivial Pursuit with this excellent, compelling game. Unlike the modern 'dumped-down' board game, this contains questions which are so tough that when you get that final cheese you'll feel like you've been awarded a PhD. There are the usual categories; Geography which is blue, history which is yellow, art and literature which is brown (my favourite), science and nature which is green, entertainment which is pink and finally sports and leisure which is orange and for me is the toughest cheese to get, seeing as I really know nothing of anything outside of soccer!
The aim of the game, for those who have never played this, is to move around the wheel shaped board winning coloured wedges (which correspond to the categories above). The only way to win these wedges is to get on a square where the spoke meets the wheel (so to speak) and answer that coloured question correctly. However, in order to move around you have to answer a range of other intermediate questions. Each category can range from something insanely simple (such as which film was based on the book 'Do androids dream of electric sheep?' to ‘Who won the Best Actress Oscar in 1954 for her role in such and such?’ - this differs from the modern trivial pursuit questions where the most difficult questions are 'Do spiders have wings?' or 'Name all the Spice Girls' - please!).
Perhaps the most infuriating aspect of this game (enjoyable as it is), is the fact that you sometimes land on a question colour which you don't believe you have any chance in a million years of getting right and its something dead easy like 'Which country is Berlin the capital of?' And then when you actually get on the wedge question for that colour, you get 'Which nation was the thirteenth to join the European Union?' Arrrgh! In particular, perhaps the most annoying (in a good way) is the way you have to return to the centre hub and answer a question to win and answer a question on a category that somebody else selects! Whilst this is not so bad for the computer (it doesn't know your weak areas), if it’s a real human opponent they will always select a category they know you have no hope in! In my case that would be 'Who hit the winning shot in the US Open in 1986?' Hmmph!

Kwinten (09/05/2008) It still remains the best game ever! And the good thing is, they keep on adding more questions so you can keep playing forever.Richardp1977 (10/31/2007) I was so glad to find this game.Joshvader8 (10/27/2006) This was a very fun game. My son and I enjoyed it!Kelltiff11 (10/24/2006) Trivial pursuit on the computer is tricky, especially when you’re playing up against the computer. I do enjoy the questions as they are all different and modifying in advance.
