Game Review (written by Fedo) Added on: 09/15/2006
Eagle Eye Mysteries is a great education and entertainment game. It was the most memorable game of my childhood. Its sequel, Eagle Eye Mysteries in London, is just as great. You don't quite find a lot of good games with equally great sequels. The plots are not too simple and not too complicated; adults can enjoy the game just as much as kids. It is not critically-acclaimed for any reason; I, definitely, recommend you add this game to your collection.
The storyline is quite simple at first; Jake Eagle and his sister Jennifer are two kids from a small town with big aspirations.

it all. They are assisted by an electronic device; T.R.A.V.I.S. It's a PDA-like gadget that can both take images with its camera and notes using its pen and screen. The game is not too time-consuming either. You can go by your own pace; solve a mystery, save the game, leave the rest for some other time. I recommend savoring every moment and taking it slow with the mystery-solving, it'll be quite a downer to realize that you're done with every possible mystery in the game. However, you'll definitely find yourself playing it again.
The graphics are quite appealing, and the storyline is structured very well. You'll definitely get addicted. It also gives bits and pieces of information during game-play, which gives it its renowned educational value. It definitely can stimulate minds. I haven't come across any bugs, while playing the game, either. That's definitely a gold star for EA, the developing company for this game.
The characters in the game are quite easy to relate to, and the plots are very interesting; kids can definitely relate them to their daily lives. The only downside to it is that it works on MS-DOS, which has turned absolute nowadays. But it's still worth the hassle. Another downside has to have the CD to be able to play the game, but maybe that was to avoid taking up a lot of the memory; I don't think that's an issue with all the latest developments in hardware and computers.
This game is great, and if EA is reading this: Please make another Eagle Eye Mysteries game! It was one of the best summers of my childhood playing that game. And I definitely think that more Eagle Eye Mysteries games should be in the works.
