Mario Early Years is a great game that is aimed for under 6's. It's really accessible to children and not only is it a lot of fun, it also teaches them essential skills they can use both at home and in school. The fact that it is Mario is a great way to learn for kids and it keeps them coming back. They not only want to play but don't realise they are learning at the same time.
The game consists of various elements on a multi sensory level enabling a progression of learning along the key process skills.
I have two children aged 3 and 5 and both use it all the time. I'm happy to leave them for hours at a time knowing not only are they enjoying themselves and keeping out of trouble they are also learning as well. Not only have their mathematical skills increased, so have their literary skills and they are starting to learn different facts and figures I didn't know until I was over fifteen.
I have noticed a marked improvement in their reading before they go to bed, they are now reading books for age groups over two years older than themselves. This has been commented on by the children's teachers and play group assistants who think we have two child
prodigies on our hands. They have said their reading is good, their maths skills are the same of an eight year old and that they are starting to use words not expected of children of their age. I have recommended this to all my friends with children and have had positive feedback about it. They say they have noticed similar developments in their child's cognitive development and we have noticed the gap between our children and theirs has closed since they started playing the game.
I have found the software accessible in the fact it is easily downloaded and can be started by my children. I have even played it and learnt some new stuff which is really exciting. My wife has said it's taken a huge burden off her as she no longer has to play with the kids constantly and she knows they are in a safe environment where they can play and learn together.
Overall I am very impressed with the game and hope they introduce similar games for older children to continue their development as learners and generally in life. I would recommend this game to anybody. Thankyou.
