Game Review (written by Gylan) Added on: 01/16/2007
Mario Time Machine is one of the first games to have Mario involved but not doing anything we like about Mario games, much like today’s Mario Parties, Mario Karts, and the Mario Sports series. This game takes Mario back in time to recapture key items in history that Bowser has stolen. And if that wasn’t bad enough he also captured Yoshi to give the kids more incentive to save our time stream. After you figure out on your own what exactly you have to do, since the game doesn’t really clear cut it for you, it’s not a difficult game.
As long as straining yourself to play a boring game isn’t hard for you.
Basically what you have here is a 2D side scrolling adventure set in a world that Mario and browser don’t even inhabit. Bowser steals various 14 pieces of history from 8 big name historical people (Plato, Thomas Edison, Cleopatra
- for some reason because she is the shining achievement of female history that no one else was suited to teach our children the good women can do).
What Mario must do is a few easy mini games to win the pieces back. Then return those pieces to their proper historical time period. After he finishes with this task Mario can then face Bowser and win Yoshi back thus saving

us all from odd time paradoxes and saving Mario from having to walk everywhere on his own.
The game play is for children about 4 to 4 and half years old. I played this when I was young and it was just as dumb to have to learn with one of my favourite characters as it was to put that fork in the electric socket.
The sound quality is fitting for a game of this calibre. This game will put you to sleep long before you can hear the music.
The graphics are misleading it looks like Mario is as kick butt as he usually is but since there is nothing around for him to stomp it just leads to disappointment. It makes you wonder if it was made by a company who even played a Mario game.
If you are looking for shroom squashing, turtle crushing, block breaking action go play a good game. But if you want to learn what a crappy game is then play this one.
If this game sparks your fancy however because you happen to like bad games.
Try out Mario is Missing. You will be just as if not more disappointed!
