Game Review 1 (written by Nick_sorge) Added on: 09/16/2006
Odell Down under is one of my favorite games. We used to play it in school and I loved it. I also like it because I love ocean animals especially the Cephalopod family like the squid and the octopus. This game is also great because it’s not just educational but it’s really fun for people like me who love and are interested in animals.
The graphics and the look of the ocean and the fish in this game are really good and the gameplay as well.
I love the way the game is even though I haven’t played this game in a long time I still remember it and still want to play it. When I get this I will probably be playing it almost all day everyday because I remember back in school I would be so excited to go to the computer lab and play this game.
I also love the diversity in all the animals that are in this game from sharks and dolphins down to the tiniest fish in the ocean. I remember I used to love being the squid that was my favorite thing to be and I always will be the squid because it’s so cool and can do so many things.

It was also very difficult so that made it even more of a challenge because I find challenges to be way more enjoying than something that was way easy. Also how there are different ways of playing like a regular game mode and like another mode just to have fun. I can’t wait until I get this game because it may also help me on my way to become a Marine Biologist in getting to know what the animals eat and what their names are and what they do so I am very, very excited to be able to play this game again. You need to keep making lots and lots of games like this with different ecosystems around the world that would be the coolest thing ever. I would buy all those games and so would all of my friends because we all love this game and games like it even though this is the best game ever made in my opinion there still needs to be more.
This game has helped me in science and biology all through my life and made me love the animals I love and like to do the things I do and it also made me want to become a marine biologist which is very great. I love animals of the sea and also the animals of the land and all foreign animals real or fake I will love this game forever.

Game Review 2 (written by Maverick1921) Added on: 09/12/2006
I remember the first time I played this game. I was in the fourth grade and absolutely loved it from the first moment I played it! My fourth grade teacher had this and the Oregon Trail Game on all of our computers. Any bit of spare time I had, I was glued to the computer screen playing Odell: Down Under. Years went by and I forgot about the game, but one day I was surfing the internet and found the game. Of course I had to download it!
I have since played the game for hour upon hour. Sure the game is old and the graphics aren't the best compared to today's standards, but it holds childhood memories and is still a load of fun. Maybe someday soon Microsoft will make a new version that can be played on the Xbox 360. Ok that's probably just wishful thinking, but hey, it's a thought anyway. I guess my favorite part is playing in the practice mode, where you can pretty much play until you die. There is no time limit and there is no point limit, so you can just choose your fish and play on!
I usually played in practice mode as the Great White Shark. Kind of hard to lose the game while you are playing as a great white ha. I do kind of wish you could keep a running count of the score while you are playing in practice mode though. I'm sure you could rack up a ton of points while playing as the great white shark. Odell: Down Under is actually also a very educational game. Any child that can read can play the game and have the same hours of fun that I have, but at the same time they can read up on many, many different kinds of fish and learn all about their habitat and their way of living.
From the smallest shrimp to the largest shark, there is an array of breeds that you can play as and learn all about. I would recommend this game to anyone who can stand an old cheesy game that still serves an educational purpose. Odell: Down Under also features a tournament mode, where the game selects a very small fish to start out and you have to rack up points and advance through bigger fish. The more points you rack up, the faster you'll get to the Great White shark.
Let's keep this classic game running on this site so more people can learn all about fish and have fun at the same time.

This was a very relaxing game that taught me about the food chain. I also learned about ecosystems and quite possible learned about the watershed topic, as well.

I remember playing this back when I was probably about 5 or so. I just love that there are websites with all the free old share ware and abandon ware games from times long past (at least to me they seem really long ago because i was about half an inch tall when I played them).
