Orbits: Voyage through The Solar System is not really a game, it is informational software. VERY GOOD informational software. You can learn all about the solar system and how it works. You get to learn about the history of the sun and what's going happen to it in 5 billion years. You can compare and contrast different planets by their core temperatures, size, gravity influence, how far away they are from each other, etc. You can also learn about comets and how they operate in the solar system.
You can get moon charts for the position of the moon on any given day, and you can learn about the nuclear processes that drive the sun around and around. You can take quizzes regularly, about the information you learn in the game, to help advance your knowledge about the solar system. You can even print off star charts and get a view of what the sky would look like during a certain part of the night in a certain part of the world. The user interface is extremely friendly and the program is very easy to use. You can even learn the history of the universe and how the Earth actually came into existence. This program is perfect for you,
if you are a space addict and love learning about places outside of Earth. If you have a class, where learning about the solar system and want to increase your knowledge, this is the perfect program for you.
This has been one of the best DOS programs, I've ever had the pleasure of using, and even now, I still use it regularly for moon and star positions, as well as a useful reference tool. Even as a DOS program, this program is much better than many of the programs, I use here on my XP system. This program contains stuff, I couldn't find in the internet!
All in all, I highly recommend this game to anyone, who loves the solar system and informational software. It's AWESOME!
