Game Review (written by Shanny9866) Added on: 12/13/2006
For me personally, this game was excellent, it allowed me and my kids to have fun while learning at the same time, and although I don't want to admit it I very much enjoyed playing it just by myself when I had a bit of extra time for myself. Of course it's mainly for kids but I would recommend it for anyone who wants to explore their creative side or just learn the basics of a story.
The parent can watch their child learn and have fun while making memories at the same time.

The parent can watch their child learn and have fun while making memories at the same time. This game is easy to navigate around and find what you're looking for. You can create many stories with choices of landscapes, characters, backgrounds and many others parts

that make up a good story. This game combines simple graphics and sounds that you'd see with a program such as paint and Microsoft word but it is so much more and also includes a dictionary and thesaurus when it comes to the writing part.
This game can create a fair amount of self confidence in a child, for they can make their ideas come to life and feel like they can accomplish anything when they put their mind to it. Other key features in this game include the computer actually reading back the words your child has written so your child not only gains the ability of spelling but also sounding out and saying the words correctly. The game is also very explanatory to set up, pop in the CD and install and your child is ready to go.
Another great feature is that your child can print out their story once they have finished writing it and making the pictures. So you or you child can read along at bed time if they wish. I think this is a very great program; I myself have created stories that I can read to my kids before bed or after to school or whenever I just want to spend some quality bonding time with them. Your child also has the ability to choose from a selection of story starters with a starting sentence and picture to match, which can get them started on a story if they don't already have an idea of what they'd like to write about.
This program is also a very reasonable price compared to some educational programs which are good but extremely pricey. I have always loved The Learning Company's programs; since they are always reasonably priced and can teach your kids in a way they understand it and have fun. For me personally I think these programs should be mandatory in schools everywhere.
