Game Review (written by Chrissi) Added on: 02/04/2008
Educational games can be tons of fun especially Word Rescue. For this game you will be going throughout platforms matching several words with pictures that are suppose to resemble the word. There has been the introduction of basic vocabulary for you to learn while avoiding many dangers that have been placed through out the board.
For Word Rescue you will have three different episodes to take part in. Episode One is where you will visit Gruzzleville and a castle. For the second episode you will explore throughout the GruzzleBad Caverns.

For the second episode you will explore throughout the GruzzleBad Caverns. Lastly the final and third episode you will see the haunted house that is quite spooky. During this game you will be a character trying to get back all the words

that have been stolen by the Gruzzles who are unable to read and feel that no one else should be able too. As the player you will be assisting Benny Bookworm in returning all of the words that have been stolen and then go through matching the words with their meanings making it that Benny can place these back amongst his books.
For the game play itself you will be traveling through a platform environment matching words with the corresponding pictures that have been included. These will all be randomly placed throughout the levels. There is a total of seven words for each level, when you have discovered all seven and placed them with the correct picture you will then be given a key by Benny and continue onto the next level. When you have make an incorrect choice one of the Gruzzles will appear and you will have to get Benny to pour slime to make them go away. When you come into contact with a Gruzzle you will have to begin the level over again.
There are several different difficulty levels to select from that will allow the game to be easy for young gamers or really hard for even an adult. The difficulty level that you play at will solely depend on how comfortable with the game.
Word Rescue is a true rescue game. Learning how to match words with pictures is a great educational value many young children should be able to learn. This will not only assist in teaching new words but also give the child a picture to remember them by. Get your child learning to read and match with Word Rescue. This game is loads of fun for any gamer even an adult. Earn points for everything you complete allowing the child to feel even more proud of themselves for earning a large amount of points and making all the right choices throughout the entire game.

Word Rescue is a wonderful, timeless game. I played this game for hours on end when I was young and I'm glad I now get to share it with my child. it's educational but still tons of fun. I highly reccommend this game.
