Diggers 2: Extractors is a more improved version of the original Diggers. In this sequel, your main objective is to make the 25 Hanging Worlds of Zarg unite. You accomplish this by destroying the protective shields on each world or level. When you have destroyed each world’s shield, the land will then float up to the surface and you get to move on to the next one. In Diggers 2, there are around 3 species of diggers. One is the best digger, one is the absolute strongest and the third is able to teleport without taking any kind of damage.
In this version, you are able to buy things that will help you along your way. For example, you can buy teleport poles, explosives and moving platforms. Before you are able to do this, you have to collect enough money in each world to be able to buy these upgrades and be able to destroy the shields and shield generators on each world.
In order to earn money in each level, you will have to extract mineral deposits that you will uncover in each world and taking them back to your ship successfully. You also have to have the gas to fly from world to world and you earn that the same way that you earn money. The challenge in this game lies in the fact
that you have to figure out which weapons will destroy the shields and shield generators because in each world it requires a different weapon or tool. Since there are many different ways to accomplish this in each level, they made it to where there is also many different ways to use the weapons and tools. This makes it even more challenging because it gives you several different ways to complete each level while adding to the excitement and bringing the level of boring way down.
There are some things that if you are a first time player of this version of diggers that you should be aware of. You can only see what the weapons and tools actually do and look like from the main menu, not when you collect them during game play. Also because of the multiple use of tools and weapons, it can be a little confusing. It does have a training mode where you can mess around with all the weapons and tools before actually going into the game.
This version has much better graphics than the first version and it is more challenging. You learn by trial and error just as you do in any other game. I would recommend playing this game if you either have a lot of time to kill or you just like a very well thought out puzzle games.
