Game Review (written by Mhlatky) Added on: 12/06/2006
I just downloaded the 1st version of jeopardy and the 2nd version of jeopardy. I love these old school versions. They are way better than the new ones, which I think have too many graphics which makes them too slow and too showy to really enjoy. I played these old versions when I was little and still had a really old computer.
Sometimes the spelling needs to be too exact, but oh well … I don’t think that will ever be perfect.
I like that there are a bunch of old school versions on here so there is a lots of categories and a lot of questions. The people are freaking ugly but that just makes it funnier.
The first few versions are nice because they don’t have a host. I think in a computer game it’s not really necessary. I also downloaded Super Jeopardy, which is among the old version of jeopardy. In the Super Jeopardy version there’s a host and the set up is really weird. Also the download I got off here is intensely slow-going. I think the creators tried to make it have better graphics and look showier, but it comes off as ridiculous. Too slow and annoying. Plus, is that host

really supposed to be Alex Trebeck? I don’t really know who was hosting before him, but that guy they have on there is messed.
I haven’t played the newest edition of Jeopardy … the ones that come on actual CDs and not floppies … but I have played the new Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. I figure they’d be about the same. I want the game to concentrate on the questions and not the graphics. I mean, having Alex Trebeck on there would be pretty funny, but not really worth it at the cost of speed of play. I hate when computer games are slow. Especially in Jeopardy where time is of the essence.
I don’t even mind the computer players in this version... They are either really smart or really stupid. But I would probably opt out of having a computer person and, instead, I would just sign in a third player if I was playing with only one other person. This way, you can wholly compete against each other without the computer person butting in.
Well I’m super stoked that I found this on here. I wasn’t sure if I was going to find it anywhere … now I am going to show this to my mom to take her back to the good old days. SWEET!
