Game Review (written by Bailey15) Added on: 08/30/2006
Marble Drop is the classic game where you play the part of, the hand! No not really. Actually in marble drop, you actually just drop marbles in an attempt to achieve… Nothing! Sure it may seem boring, but this game is actually quite entertaining. It’s vibrant colors, impressing pseudo 3d graphics, and believe it or not, history bites, make it a fun game for anyone to sit down and start playing.
As far as the game title, it’s pretty accurate.

It’s vibrant colors, impressing pseudo 3d graphics, and believe it or not, history bites, make it a fun game for anyone to sit down and start playing.
As far as the game title, it’s pretty accurate. What you have to do is drop a colored marble down a funnel, hoping it will go to its correctly colored collector. Actually, this game does require some brain power, so if you’re not much into the thinking thing, than get out while you still

can. During your “Dropping” you will need to strategically overcome obstacle like track switches, glue and so on and so forth. Hey, I’m not going to tell you all of the obstacles, that would be cheating, and I don’t like to cheat.
Anyways, back over to Marble drop, Marble Drop is not a bad game. In fact, it was the reason I started gaming. Perhaps it was the simplicity of it all. What could be simpler than dropping marbles down a funnel? Or perhaps it was the graphics. Yeah that’s it. They only thing was that the graphics weren’t real, but were a simulation of 3d. Pseudo 3d. Amazingly though, pseudo 3d games were the next generation games of 2002.When you think about it, it actually all makes sense.
Marble Drop was ahead of its time. It was probably one of those games that helped to start the revolution in pc puzzle gaming, and pc gaming in general. What is my final verdict towards this game? I fully back and recommend this games. It’s simple(simple enough that an old lady could play it!) and somewhat immersive(enough to be addicting actually!).
Finally Marble Drop is a game that was based on a never dying genre, puzzle games. As sudoku and crosswords become more popular, it only proves that puzzle games will always be around or at least the puzzle solving element of gaming. In fact it seems to be that a puzzle solving element can make or break an adventure game. It just adds to the storyline and it adds a certain amount of challenge to any game. Marble drop was an influence.

Marble Drop is worth your time and can appeal to a wide variety of ages. It can range from a 4 year old intellect that just enjoys dropping the various colored balls through the funnels and watching them travel through the maze, to the teenager who will enjoy figuring out how to get the proper color marble to end up in the corresponding color slots at the end of the maze. The maze changes predictably but part of the fun with this puzzle is to figure out what makes the maze shuttle the marbles different directions. The four year old will probably watch each marble travel through the maze while the teen tries to get several marbles going to the correct end points at once to rack up his score. It really was a game ahead of its time, and I recommend it to everyone! Because it’s worth it!

While this may not be the most exciting game, it is a very challenging one indeed. My kids absolutely love guessing where it will go.

It really was a game ahead of its time, and was recommended to me by a math teacher for its ability to stimulate young minds.
