Microsoft Entertainment Pack: The Puzzle Collection features games from the same ingenious creator behind Tetris: Alexey Pajitnov, so you can expect these games to be quite a brain exercise. The games featured are:
Fringer: The objective is to untie knots, but it’s a race against the clock. If you slip you will fall behind, but if you can keep a good pace you'll be playing for hours. This is the ultimate time killer. It can get repetitive though so I give it 6 out of 10.

Mixed Genetics: This is a chance to use your analytical skills to cure creatures by coming up with combinations of traits to create mutants. It’s fun and creative. I give it 8 out of 10.
Rat Poker: The

objective is to capture rats to accumulate a winning poker hand. You have to keep a good pace or else you'll lose the match. This is a creative way to play poker. I give it 8 out of 10.
Color Collision: The name of the game is speed and unless you master quick evasive skills, you will, well collide. I give it 7 out of 10.
Jewel Chase: this is a good strategy game to kill time. I give it 8 out of 10.
Finty Flush: fun! I give it 6.5 out of 10.
Charmer: charm the snake. I give it 5.5 out of 10.
Lineup: good gameplay. I give it 7.5 out of 10.
Spring Weekend: enjoy the weekend. I give it 6 out of 10.
Muddled Casino: creative casino style game. I give it 7.5 out of 10.
The graphics of these games are pretty low, but keep in mind the Microsoft Entertainment Pack: The Puzzle Collection was released over ten years ago. For its period the graphics are acceptable, and nonetheless the enjoyment of the games is in the challenges and creativity, not the realism.
The first time I encountered these games I was surprised, Microsoft offered anymore than Minesweeper, Solitaire, Hearts, and Freecell, all of which I had played to exhaustion. I began playing out of curiosity and to kill time and pretty soon I had spent many hours playing obsessively. As the levels advance each game becomes more challenging, and advancing becomes increasingly satisfying. The anticipation of reaching the next level makes these games highly addicting. As the creators say: "Games so challenging, the Challenge is to Stop."
I absolutely recommend this download to anyone who enjoys a challenge and who has spent countless hours playing the basic 4 games offered with each Windows operation system: Minesweeper, Solitaire, Hearts, and Freecell.

Game Review 2 (written by Granchtnordis) Added on: 03/14/2007
Microsoft Entertainment Pack: The Puzzle Collection consist of few little puzzle games. Every game is worth playing.
Chip's Challenge: Awesome game. Really a great game. Basically, what you do- is walking around and collecting the gray chips, getting keys and boots along the way, avoiding fires and monsters. It really challenges your mind. There are a lot of puzzles involved.
Dr. Black Jack: This is a very Microsoft basic version of Black Jack. You basically play black jack against the computer. (To play Black Jack, you have to get 21 with the cards you are dealt. For example, you are dealt a queen and a 7. All face cards are worth 10 points, and Aces can be 1 or 11 depending on your choice. Every other card has a corresponding value. A 7 is a 7).
FreeCell: FreeCell is ok. It's the same game that comes with your computer. You have to free all the cards and deal them chronologically from A to K, using only 4 open spaces to move the cards around. Personally, I find this game mildly difficult, but it's a great quick game to play while waiting for a download to finish or something like this.
Taipei: This is just the old version of Majong Titans.
Golf: Another solitaire-like game. In this game, you must get rid of all the cards by stacking them chronologically, backwards or forwards, on the cards on the bottom. The pain in the butt is you can't put a card on a King. You have fourteen cards to be dealt that you can hit on. This is a hard game to beat.
JezzBall: Yay! This is a fun game where balls bounce against the walls. You have to cut the areas the balls bounce in down to size (75% or more) before the time runs out and without the balls touching. Every new level adds another ball and an extra life. This is a difficult game too, but very fun.
There are a few other games in this pack. If you like puzzles, DOWNLOAD THIS GAME PACK! You’ll like it.

These games are classics. Sometimes an hour of freecell is all you need to get your mind back on track.

I like this because it's simple but hard, you know? Easy to learn but not easy to complete and it's not impossible either.
