Tetris is one of those games that could only have been created by a genius. The game play is so simple and it’s so addicting that it’s completely brilliant. Tetris will remain among many gamers’ favorite games list for life. The game is perfect!
The sequel to the game, Super Tetris features additional game play that Tetris lovers will surely enjoy. There are additional block types that provide more challenges to the game. Another additional feature of the game are bombs that can easily “blow up” entire row of blocks.
The original Tetris still hold my loyalty but the Super Tetris is not a bad sequel at all. Super Tetris features good graphics and good sound effects. Like the original game it still features Russian music and a Russian theme. My only beef with the graphics is that the bricks are too colorful which can hurt the eyes when you’ve been playing the game for hours.
Super Tetris is a puzzle game. The goal of the game is to erase rows of bricks by piling them nice and neat without any gaps. You erase a row of bricks by making sure there is a straight line of bricks from end to end of the board. In the game, random-shaped bricks
are released and you have to find the best place to put the bricks on so that they fit in nicely and to prevent the bricks from getting to the top of the screen. You can rotate the bricks before they fall on the pile with the rest of the bricks. As you go up in level, the brick also fall faster so you have to move fast in rotating and moving the bricks. You can delete up to four rows of bricks provided four rows of bricks span the entire width of the board. In Super Tetris, at the start of the game, instead of getting a clear screen, you are already given a pile of blocks/ bricks that you need to eliminate. After you clear out the block you move on to the next level.
The genius of Super Tetris and its predecessor Tetris is that it’s a game anyone- from kids to adults can enjoy. There are no complicated plots or difficult moves and the goal is very easy to understand. One downside to the sequel is you can only rotate blocks in one direction which can pose as a problem when the bricks are falling down fast. Super Tetris is just as entertaining as the original Tetris and it is guaranteed to provide hours of enjoyable playing time.
