I think that classic tetris is a great game. Possibly, one of the best games I have ever played. Literally, I will play tetris any time of the day and it will keep me occupied for hours. With games like tetris, I have found, that my strategic abilities to play similar games have increased. Recently I have played bejeweled and other problem solving games and I have found that they are easier to play because of the countless number of times I have played tetris.
I am now to the point in tetris where I can play a game at normal speed and play for minuets on end. It’s a game for any person of age to enjoy and play.
This game was created ages ago and is still highly popular to this very day. Every time I play it I like to challenge myself to do better by increasing the speed. Once I have reached another level I feel like I have accomplished something. It’s a great feeling. I think tetris is also a good game to strengthen the motor sensory skills, and the hand-eye coordination. You are constantly looking for a place to put the piece, while figuring out where and how
it will fit in the puzzle. And at the same time you are looking at your next piece and trying to figure out where and how it can be placed in the puzzle as well. And eventually you get good enough to be able to place these pieces all together so you are constantly deleting rows and getting more points. My goal has always been to be able to keep as few rows as possible and to go for as long as I can.
Sometimes I like to challenge myself and build up my rows and see if I am capable of getting my puzzle back down to a few rows. There have been times when my rows start to build up and I find the speed and the height overwhelming so I end up losing. But that’s what makes me feel like I need to restart the game and play all over. Once I have reached a high score and the game has ended, I feel like I need to beat my high score. It’s a goal I feel that comes with every game anyone plays, especially the old arcade classics.
It's a great game for everyone to play, even my mom who is 50 is still addicted to the game and remembers it as a child. Tetris is an amazing game and I hope it sticks around for many more years down the road.
