Game Review 1 (written by Theberzerker518) Added on: 09/05/2006
I can't believe how many memories this game has for me. At first, I'm like what is this game. My father got a free disc from work. The Incredible Machine - sounds like fun. So I gave it a try. At first I had no clue what I was doing. I was confused and everything. But then I started to get to know what I was doing. About a month later, I was addicted. I played it for hours and hours.
No matter what do, you could come up with a different design after design.
I beat the game a few times but it was never enough. The fact that you could build your own creations was the incredible. Figuring, that’s where they came up with the name, The Incredible Machine. So what’s the game about you ask? Sierra Entertainment published a game where there’s a series of puzzle with a machine to get an object from point A to point B.
Sort of what people saw in old school Loony Toons and Tom and Jerry Cartoons? For example, getting the ball into the box from across the computer screen - you get a certain amount to devices like gears, conveyor belts, cats, balloons, mouse wheels, candles, and much more. Okay,
The Incredible MachineThe Incredible MachineThe Incredible Machine
so now what you’re thinking is, what do I do in the game that’s so much fun? One level you have a ball on a conveyor belt, and a box on the other side. You have to select more conveyor belts and hook then up so the ball rolls into the box. But the thing is the ball just won’t roll into the box. You actually have to hook up a power source. So you take a cat, and have it so it falls on a
Mouse wheel, so the cat scares the mouse and it runs on the wheel and it turns the conveyor belt which you hook up with a band. So now you have the ball roll onto the other conveyor belt. There’s definitely more to the game and the puzzles to get harder. But no matter what you won’t want to leave the computer till you figure out the puzzle. Even if you do give up for a bit, it’s never tiring building you own machine. There are almost too many options and different gadgets that you’ll never build the same machine twice.
I had been playing the game now for years and still I love it. So I recommend this game and if you haven’t tried it yet, you are missing out on a lot of fun. I definitely rate this game a 10 out of 10.

Game Review 2 (written by Spech) Added on: 08/29/2006
This game is great for all ages. It has puzzles that will keep you thinking into the night. I have come to find it to remember my childhood and to do something fun in my free time. This game is a very allows you to break through into the great realm of logic. I have yet to see a better logic game out there. This is the 3rd addition to the series and although it is very similar it also has its own differences that set it apart and make it better.
This game is great for kids because the game makes you think deeper than the average computer game. Studies have shown that logical thinking at an early age can increase brain capacity at later stages in life. The creators of TIM have made the perfect logic machine. After the coveted Rupe Goldberg idea TIM has been the next best thing and continues to inspire children. This game actually helped pushed me toward the engineering field at an early age and at this point now in my career I have graduated with a degree in engineering and I have loved every minute of it. Logical thinking is one of the most overlooked capacities of the human brain.
This is an amazing way to access this rarely used portion of our brains and put it to good use. Though it is only a game it still requires the same brainstorming and logical thinking to solve problems like that that engineers, doctors, and lawyers use in their everyday practices. The specific problems that are solved in this game are not of practical use, but that is not what the game is meant for. The game is meant to open up a vast new area of the brain in which to think.
This game prompts the problem solving part of the brain and it elevates awareness to our surroundings. Get the game and let your kids play it as they will think it is fun and exciting and at the same time you will be backdating valuable skills into your children’s’ mind. TIM has come out with a few versions of this game but I feel that this version is the best one out of the series and recommend it highly to anyone who is interested in a game that can increase mental skill.
Education can only go so far but what children do in their free time is what truly separates them from the rest of the crowd and can make them into successful adults.

Amazing game, can keep you busy while having fun for hours. I used to have contests with my friends to see who could make the best contraption. It is a fun game to just make something completely ridiculous to do such a simple task
