In this game you play three Vikings: Olaf, Erik and Baleog who live in their village quite happily until one day a blast of light takes them somewhere strange. The general gameplay is average. The only way to complete the levels is to combine the powers and abilities of the 3 Vikings to reach the exit sign with all 3.When you control the Vikings you have to switch control between the three so their combined efforts may save their small Viking lives. If one dies the level is incompleteable so the game must focus on a general team work theme.

The storyline is average, but the comedy in the game makes up for it by supplying a bunch of one-liners that are
well suited to a Conkers game. Each Viking’s abilities may be used to your advantage, Baleog can use a sword and bow (press d for the bow) and is the only one who can kill enemies, Erik has a shield and may protect himself and his friends and then, by putting the shield above his head, my glide and finally Olaf is fast and has a rock hard head, this allows him to jump and even break walls when required.
The First level of the game sees you on a space ship aided by small boxes with convenient information on the three heroes 'This Is No Ship' one of the Vikings exclaims surprised. After a surprising explosion after the third or forth level you end up on solid earth. Here things start to get a little harder but with the combination of your Viking friends’ abilities you manage to find your way across the surface of the planet. The rest of the game takes you through beautifully designed levels for example: Prehistoric era, A giant spaceship and even ancient Egypt (I know it's weird that they can time travel now but it was weird that they where Vikings in space but what are you going to do?).
The genre of the game is debatable because although the entire thing 'feels' like a platform the puzzles and tests that you face make it more of a puzzle game. Lost Vikings is one of the best puzzle/ platform games ever to be released on the PC, and other puzzle games shy in comparison to this shining beacon of expert design that ever was released by Interplay and the combination of storyline and comedy make this game The best ever.
