Wetrix is a well paced 3D puzzle game that resembles Tetris, only more complex. Highly addictive and entertaining it proves to be an instant hit for those of you who love puzzle games like Tetris. It’s easy to get the hang of and it’s easy to play, at first at least, as your walls get higher and water level increases so does the speed, turning it into a frantic rush to control your fluid related problems.
Classic and Pro (harder obviously) mode starts you off with a flat square of “land” and pieces must be arranged to hold in water, shapes that resemble the original Tetris pieces like the simple line to the L, the T and a square all fall down flat in a way to create walls for your upcoming lakes, down pieces allow to get rid of mistakes or break down walls to give more water capacity.

There are Fireballs that demolish land or evaporate entire lakes and bombs that, no matter how high the mountain, blow a hole clear through the map, these can be repaired by placing a building piece over said hole. Just as you get the hang of it, it rains, adding more water and any left over gaps will allow water to sink into the drain.
The drain? I hear you say. Yes when it gets full, game over man! So keep them walls high, but too high will cause an earthquake! Oh my! It’s suddenly gotten more complicated in here but this game is full of little surprises to entertain, small lakes become hosts to ducks and get enough water to start a rainbow! Score is determined by numerous factors including number of lakes, level, water level rainbows and ducks, Unfortunately the high score isn’t too hard to beat so set a challenge with some friends or bring one round for some frantic 2 player action!
There are puzzle modes to keep those of you who think it’s still too easy on your toes with 100 or 500 piece challenges and random land games where every level the map is grounded to small bumps, Ah the madness never seems to stop in this game.
Graphics are not flash but for the type and style of the game it’s no issue whatsoever. People still play Tetris in its original form and like Tetris, Wetrix keeps its charm proving to age like fine wine. An instant classic and a must have for puzzle fans! What are you waiting for?
