Xonix is one of those easy, classic games that provided me, as a kid, a ton of enjoyment and entertainment. The way Xonix works is via all arrow keys. You have a black screen bordered by blue. Inside the black area are two dots that bounce around at random. You are a square that starts out in the blue border. What you have to do is make a trek across the open spaces of black and start sectioning off chunks. Each time you venture into the black area, you leave a blue trail behind you.

Each time you return to the blue border, the area you sectioned off fills with blue. The object of the game is to fill as much of the black area with blue
as possible.
However, the bouncing balls I mentioned earlier provide a challenge. You have to make it from your starting point to another point of blue without having yourself, or the trail you are making getting hit by one of these balls. Otherwise, the chain breaks, you lose a life, and you go back to where you just were. Each time you gain enough blue space, you proceed to the next level where the balls start moving quicker and are eventually joined by more. Another object you have to make sure and watch out for is a little zig zag square that, again, if you are touched by it, you lose a life. It provides some challenge, but is a fun and rewarding game.
Even with the basic beep boop sounds of the classic computer, the game holds that same appeal as it used to for me. I hope you find this game as fun as I did when I was little, and as fun as I find it now.
