Game Review (written by Rhymnwhitey) Added on: 10/24/2006
The whole thing with amulets and armor. Let’s see for an old school game it really had a lot going on. It sort of makes me think back to when I was playing D&D on the NES or like a super old school medieval final fantasy all and all it is quite the game to play. Everything from the details that are given. The dialogue that is written sometimes made me laugh you can tell it was an old game through and through.
Most satisfying thing about the play was the classic feel to it.
I really enjoyed the mapping and the way the coloring was. I mean what can you expect from a game that was made when I was still going to the bathroom in my huggies. I have always loved these old games though. From the very beginning I was a gamer. Nowadays though with all the buttons joysticks and whatnot I am just not sure what’s even going on anymore. We need to go back to the OLD SCHOOL RPG and the ghettofabulousness of it all. I mean I love that fact that you see a flash on the screen and then you’ve won something like Amulets and Armor carries. Not trying to dodge some mystical out of nowhere oxygenated zombie. Where
Amulets And ArmorAmulets And ArmorAmulets And Armor
is the orange square moving ever so slowly across the screen that I am trying to rescue and what is the blue square with the dramatic midi sound that must be an enemy for me to fight. Oh my I won some kind of elixir.
I mean seriously don’t you sometimes miss the side scrolling gameplay such as this. I truly do. I want to go back in time and play more games like this and just let myself sit back and play my 12 bit fabulousness without the glitz and glamour of days gone by.
Perhaps I have just became a little overly nostalgic after playing this. I mean I totally will recommend it to you though and I guarantee you should try it. Just because. If you don’t like the gameplay I am so sorry but let me tell you for back in the day these had some shizz going on, and that is what really matters.
I think I am going to go cast a spell on myself and go back to the past sit around on my green screen VGA monitor and enjoy the game.

This game sadly did not get the attention it deserved. With innovative multiplayer (coop) and a decent, mouse-driven UI, it really could have been a fantasy version of System Shock (albeit, without the persistent world). The quests are no-nonsense, fight and puzzle your way to the dungeon, but luckily there is variation and a teleport when you complete the quest. You can't control how you level up, but there are ample classes to choose from and a lot of weapons to try out, spells to wield, and crazed enemies to kill. SVGA would have been welcome, but you get used to the viewing window after a while. Try it out with a friend, though bear in mind, it won't blow your socks off, but it should be entertaining.
