I first played this game around the time it was first released, sometime in the 90s. Epic Megagames put this out and I was a fan of some of their other releases like One Must Fall, so I thought it would at least be an interesting game.
It is a first person RPG similar in feel to Eye of the Beholder or the like. It has many standard rpg traits: you create characters, are given a selection of classes, pick stats for each character, etc.

You are also given more choices than I expected as well. There were several magician classes to pick from, like conjurer, sorcerer, and also several fighter type classes including warrior, hunter,
paladin. There weren't, however, any in-between classes really. Though a paladin could use some healing spells, that was the limit pretty much too complicated character classes. Very much classic dungeons and dragons type of characters.
The gameplay itself was fairly easy. You navigate the party through the city in search of something. There are many random fights with monsters, the graphics and sound for which I thought were done quite well. That, to me, is one of the few good things about this game, however.
Good role-playing games to me combine a good underlying story or theme with a good battle system and good graphics. This game has fairly good graphics and an ok if overused battle system, but has little or no plot or interaction with non-player characters. As you go through the city, it appears as though it's deserted, though it is supposed to be a thriving city with many secrets.
The enemy battles can occur just about anywhere in the city as well, which is pretty annoying. Most games use the cities and no-enemy zones, unless abandoned of residents. How can the city have active soldiers and residents with monsters seemingly around every corner?
I found myself most of the time wandering around the city with no idea what I was supposed to be doing, fighting many random battles that just got annoying after a while. There are mazes with no maps or guides for, or any clear reason for you to be there in the first place anyway, or knowing what if anything you should be looking for. After a while I just got bored and never finished the game.
To sum it up, this game had potential to be good with its nice graphics and a fairly decent variety of character classes. Its lack of any real story or indication of what to do next makes it tiresome and boring. I would not recommend this game unless you just like to fight random rpg battles and wander around an empty city.
