Anvil of dawn is one of the earlier and best games that I have ever played I got lucky and snagged it at a junk store. For its time it had awesome graphics and almost full voices or maybe even full voices but I don’t remember now. The game play is a first person view
The story line is very unique and you got your choice of 4 characters but in the end that was more of a cosmetic effect because you could alter what there starting attributes were.

The story line is very unique and you got your choice of 4 characters but in the end that was more of a cosmetic effect because you could alter what there starting attributes were. As you went you saw what devastation was spreading throughout the land and monsters that are very unique and in some cases disturbing. You find many various spells and weapons that all look different and
there are many armors amulets and other items throughout. As you gain levels you are able to distribute points into schools of magic or schools of armaments witch increases magic of that type or weapons of the type you choose.
You will travel through conquered cities and towns where not only have citizens been slaughtered in there own homes but have been turned into terrifying creatures, you’ll also encounter terrifying monsters in there own terrain. Wander the depths of the ocean floor travel through a giant living tree and walk through a monstrous grave yard in search of the means to destroy an almost godlike foe that has the fate of this world gripped in the palm of his hands.
I find that I never had any technical difficulties with this game it never wanted to crash on me my saves never mysteriously corrupted or anything. I was never able to really find any good help for this game if I got stuck at certain points because either due to its age or rarity I have only ever been able to find one walkthrough or it’s not too spectacular.
The only downfall I can think of for this game is that man it is hard!!! You will be praying for either healing or manna restoring items or altars but even with the altars you need runes to make them work too!! And on top of all that your stamina can run out while you’re fighting! Also throughout the game there are multiple pressure plates that either 1. Activate traps or 2. Open doors but some of these require weight to stay open so you must carry rocks and junk equipment to weigh them down witch is very difficult if your strength is not sufficient.
All in all this is easily still one of my favorite games.
