My Adventure to the Castle of the Winds:
It was about 10 years ago, when I was introduced to one of the best games I ever played in my life. Trust me it didn't look impressive. In fact it looked whack! Until I sat down 1 day and played the game....
This Exciting Adventure Game is about A warrior whose Home has just been destroyed by evil forces...
You start out in a simple town, with little money and little variety of inventory [swords, helmets, shields etc.....] as you go north u notice a castle....
This is when the real journey begins....
As you venture thru floors in the castle, you face dangerous monsters [Giant rats, goblins, corpses, snakes etc.], grow levels, learn new spells [I recommend that every
player learns magic arrow 1st] and traps pitfalls that can lead to a gruesome death], and finally, secrets about the burning of your home. You also travel to distant towns. Along the way you can acquire enchanted or cursed items....you make your choice.
One of the best things of this game is that you don't necessarily have 2 get out of the castle 2 heal yourself with potions. You can sleep and recover your health and mana 4 spells. But.... Beware! If you sleep anyhow, certain monsters will interrupt your beauty sleep, and potentially beat you...
This game is really cool, but in our generation of gaming 2day it would be considered crap!
The controls are quite confusing at first… but when you acquire them the game becomes interesting…
The storyline is the best aspect of the game. If you’re looking for a really good, old, retro game, try this, perhaps you'll get hooked...
This game has a sequel, but I haven't played it unfortunately...
I hope 1 day I'll find it and play it....
I'll almost do anything 2 get my hands on this awesome title again....
The graphics….
Let’s skip the graphics... Okay, okay! They're bad! 4 our time. It's cartoonish and there is barely animation.
Well.
That marks the end of my review but it’s basically an awesome game….
Epic Mega Games should consider re-making the game 21st century style with the same storylines. It’s a really cool game… all it takes is patience, and you will enjoy yourself, you'll love it.
