Oh wonder of wonders! I have come home again. That's what I thought when I realized that EOB could be played on PC again in its full glory and splendor. I originally played this game way back in the day and it captivated me and my brother back then, and it still captivates me today.
All the memories came flooding back. It was great. Based on the 3rd rules AD&D at the time it was marvelous to see, a dungeon you can walk round in and interact with without some high and mighty DM messing it up for you.

Based on the 3rd rules AD&D at the time it was marvelous to see, a dungeon you can walk round in and interact with without some high and mighty DM messing it up for you. There are different races, classes and alignments to play as usual, and it's set in the fabled city of Waterdeep. The graphics for the time it was made

are brilliant, and the game-play is wonderful.
There is also a certain amount of replay value to as you can pit different parties against the dungeon to see how they fare and also pick and choose different people that can come into your party at different points in the game.. And if that's not enough there are also secret quests too.
In terms of how long it takes to play, I think it's between 20-30hrs game-play. The difficulty in the game tries to be a linear increase the deeper you go, but sometimes this doesn't work too well. As you may fall 2 or three levels and find yourself being killed very quickly. Even though you start off with a party of 4 people and can expand this to 6. This is the game that converted me to D&D all those years ago. It rocks in so many ways and if you stick with it, and remember to save often then playing it is still rewarding and fun.
A must download in my opinion. So what are you waiting for download and get stuck into the Dungeons today!

Simply the best RPG ever made and far ahead of its time. This is the first episode of a very enthusiastic trilogy, as well as the Pandora's box for nowadays RPG games.

One of the first RPGs I ever played on a PC. This game truly captured the idea of role playing thru use of visual, audio and storytelling techniques. Of the 3 in the series this is my favourite and would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys PC gaming and RPGing. Westwood had some of the best games back then and this is one of them.
