Game Review (written by Fusionpower) Added on: 11/09/2006
This is a great game. I first played the game when I was only 8 years old. It was unique as compared with other gold box games in that it actually had a somewhat non-forced plot. Although linear, many of the quests could be performed in any order. Additionally, there was some required role playing, and that the final quest in the desert could not be solved without careful planning and thought.
I appreciate the stunning graphics for the time when I first played the game, and the fact that so many sets were used to describe the regions of the game.

you to take a party of 1-6 characters (and I recommend that you take as many as you can, since you will still likely max out on your levels by the end of the game), on a quest to save the Savage frontier from a Zhentil attack. However, in the start, you just find out that someone has stolen your precious +2 long sword (and you can not get it back for quite some time, so do not fret about it).
You will be able to go to Luskan and enter into the host tower of the arcane, you will be able to go to neverwinter and to cause trouble there, while meeting lord nasher. You will even be able to travel all of the way to the top of an isolated mountain, where you will meet a dragon! This is an extremely fun game, and the tight level restriction makes it even more fun, after all you must be smart about the later battles, if you are to survive.
There is an alternate route to get to the desert city, by circumventing the main city (and its traps), but the random desert encounters may be even more tough for your party!
It is important to include a thief, because like any adventure, there will be many hidden items which can greatly aid your party, if only they are found.
Another great thing about this game is that it is one of the first to actually consider the time of day. There is at least one puzzle that if you wait too long, you can not solve it, unless you wait another week of game time. This is much more true than those games which just hack and slash, run away, rest and heal, and return to hack and slash some more.
I hope that you enjoy this game and port over your characters to its sequel!
