Game Review (written by Awesomepossum) Added on: 08/15/2006
Legends of Valour begins in your hometown, which varies from character to character. Your character is selected by a random program. After you leave this village of yours, you find yourself in a larger city. While the graphics are not gorgeous, Legends of Valour has a certain charm about it. As you embark on your quest to unite the four skulls, you encounter varying creatures and mythical monsters. There are vampires, ghosts, werewolves, and of course guards. As you explore the vast expanse of the city, discovering treasures, magical items, and varying quests, you realize that you have been playing for hours.

The game captivates you in much the same way that some of the newer Sims games do.
The battle system consists of thrusts,

overhand swings, and slashes, all of which are utilized by the two kinds of weapons: swords and axes. As well as engaging in combat, you can also choose to throw a weapon at your opponent, then run over and pick it back up. Using the keyboard, you can physically control your character's movements. The mouse is utilized in clicking on the chosen form of attack.
If you choose to do quests for the Guild of Thieves, you gain the ability to break into windows. While one could do the entire main quest, it is also a possibility to just enjoy playing. Buying and selling items at the opportunistic time can allow you to rake in the gold. You may rent a room at one of the pubs safely, or risk being robbed or arrested by sleeping outside.
Quests can be readily found at various pubs. After you tire of these, you can explore even more. If you decide that you are truly up to the challenge, you might even consider delving into the complex tunnels and caverns that lie under the city. Creatures a plenty can be found there waiting for you to come along. Goblins, ghosts, minotaurs, vampires, dragons, and other creatures of myth exist there should you choose to venture down below.
Unfortunately, the game is getting quite old and is severely out of date. This is a setback because very few people are playing this game anymore. Sure when compared to other games of the generation, this one doesn’t step up to the plate, but hey, give it a shot before you instantly discard the idea of playing it. This is a game that grows on you and matures like wine, with time.

This was the first full-price PC game I ever bought. I saved for months to buy it, and it was totally worth it! Graphics look pretty awful by today's standards, but if you can move past this you'll be playing this for weeks! A true classic.

Very good game. If you like adventure, suspense, fighting, magic and more, you have to play this game.
