You take control of up to 5 premade or custom created characters to undertake the mystery of the purple ooze that has started destroying the planet Rhylanor the catastrophe occurred from an ancient relic pyramid type monument that has been present for hundreds of years. What can it be? That’s where you come in.
Ok first off id like to talk about the Character Creation, just based on the fact that this is nearly a game in itself and can at the start of the game if you choose not to take the pre-made team can take an a lot time customising each of the 5 characters you can have in your party, a lengthy part of your time but it’s a lot of fun and I must of created over 100+ characters only to delete them as wasn’t quite happy with them.

The main reason behind this is how much depth there is at the beginning, you are present with a horizontal graph with 6 stats i.e. from physical to mental depending on the role of character will dictate on the amount of that stat you will need to have.
You also have a list at the side depending the roll of stats you have on which role you can enlist with those stats, This is by no means a given, you can choose to ignore, say, joining the army and can enlist in the scientist field however there is a chance they will reject your application. There is in total around 20 roles you can enlist and you can enlist in more than one, however every term means more years and by this I mean each time you enlist you are given a series of benefits which could increase your knowledge in Weapon usage or having the ability to fly a ship or even the skill to hold a position on a Ship itself like communication officer or even the engineer. To be honest this part of the game is massively intriguing and also can be frustrating as to be honest at the start of the game you don’t really know what you will need until you actually start playing, I’ve opted for a balanced team with mixture of elements in mind, and in the long run depending on which skills your characters hold will just change the way you go about playing the game itself.
Once party is ready and you’re ready to embark on the universe, you are dropped in a top down below of rhylanor, where you will be then given your first task to locate a person who will then go on to explain the situation of the story that unfolds.
STORY
The story is very long and with the wealth of information and also the sub- sidequests can became very much like an information overload, but I find writing down the main elements with the main storyline and then if you preceded with the subquests at least that way you can come back to the main story and still know what you were supposed to be doing.
The graphics are standard 2d 256 colours and nothing to be impressed about, not in this day an age, but going back when RPG was your pen and paper affair, this game illustrates and provide a necessary part to the game compared to most of the other games around at that time they were very much the norm and only higher budget games that were around at the time could be blessed with the resources could make great animation games.
The sound megatraveller isn’t mega nor will it make you feel invigorated after a an hour or 2, you may find its helping you go to sleep, so I tend to just run my own music in the background but at any rate its mainly your typical beeps and buzzes and the occasional eerie sound that you get when something's afoot, but again the GAMEPLAY that makes this game great.
OVERALL
The game is very much something that will have you intensely wrapped or instantly dropped you tend to get what you put in and in that I would at least try it although if you don’t do RPG I would even look at it.
