Game Review (written by Tortillian) Added on: 02/09/2007
Enter Phantasie 3: Wrath of Nikademus. The third installment in a trilogy, Phantasie 3 ranks well among its predecessors. If you've played the first two installments, you will find this latest addition to be to your liking, I'm positive.
In this newer version, the graphics have seen upgrades that set it apart. Furthermore, the combat engine has seen considerable upgrades, including an added number of areas on the body of each character where injury can occur, like the head, torso and / or numerous limbs and appendages.
These can now be broken, damaged or even removed! Fortunately, the spells list has also seen upgrades with more spells to use over a wider range of uses and specialties. Variety then can be expected. You might also find the battle lineup more appealing.
Phantasie 3 makes it so you, the player, are able to move your characters to the front, middle or back (foreground, primary and background) of battle, amplifying your lineup with a more reasonable and manageable fashion in which you can assign "tanks" at the frontline who can take more damage, skill-users like thieves in the middle-ground where they are close enough to the fight without being close enough for taking heavy damage, and light-armored characters like mages and archers in the background,

where they can cast ranged spells and projectiles from a distance without having to take heavy physical damage from the enemy. More spells and equipment have been added to the roster for your use and disposal, intensifying the gameplay with a more detailed "upgrade" emphasis on the characters you make to take part in your party.
In this third and final installment, the purpose is to defeat the evil Nikademus once and for all. He plans to take over the world for good, and it's up to you and your party to stop him. No one else can. Largely explorer-based, you will find the map and terrain to your constant advantage while providing enough mystery and intrigue to cause you to apply your gaming skills and experience.
This role-playing game is worth your time. Advance, make your party more powerful by making your characters stronger, more advanced, and better equipped. The world awaits you. Will you take it on?
