Game Review 1 (written by Jaffy56) Added on: 05/09/2007
Apache Longbow is based on the most popular army helicopter apache. As the name suggest it is based on apache ability to fight under testing conditions. This game like other games is not so tough, but I can say it’s no so easy either.
The game puts you right the under the cockpit in one of the famed and feared of aviation master piece the Apache. The Longbow is faster than any helicopter you can imagine and is fully loaded to destroy any enemy in his terrain.
You can feel the power as soon as you take off. But given the system requirement for this game, it will easily beat any game in its category. The graphics are great!
The controls are one of the toughest things to handle only if you never played a game before. All you need is a keyboard and some extra long and if possible additional fingers. But then you can also use the joystick with some good options in it.
The drawback is it does not offer too many play modes like other games of same genre. The only game mode you can see is kind a well scripted campaign. This game for should have been provided with some extra firepower like multiplayer

or instant game mode. You have missile, you have a machine gun in the cockpit that fires bullet at a high speed using which you can hit some pretty good opponents.
This is the marvellous and exciting game! It’s my favourite one! If you don’t play it do it now! You’ll be impressed!

Game Review 2 (written by Ranger75wnb) Added on: 05/04/2007
In Apache Longbow, you are given the chance to fly one of two modern helicopters that are flown by the United States Army today, the Apache Longbow (an Apache Attack Helicopter with a sophisticated radar on top of the main rotor), and a UH-60 Blackhawk, which is the workhorse of the United States Army Aviation Corps.
As a new user, you are able to "free fly" in the choppers and get used to the control interface of each of the choppers, and to get the feel of the two distinctly different aircraft. As a Longbow pilot, you are armed with a 30mm cannon, and the choice of carrying all hellfire missiles (radar guided missiles) or dumbfire rockets (fire in a straight line), or you can carry both at one time (sacrificing the max number of each of the weapons). The main mission of the Longbow is to search for and destroy armor (tanks, trucks, armored personnel carriers, etc.) and this is accomplished by using advanced radar on the chopper. The Longbow can also take out personnel using the 30 mm cannon. In the game, it is easy to lock onto targets by using the radar screen on the HUD. With the simple push of a few buttons, you can lock onto and change targets. In order to use the cannon, just look at the target you want to shoot, and pull the trigger.
The game is made much easier by using a joystick in order to fly the chopper, and also to free up another hand to use on the keyboard. With the blackhawk, there are few missions to fly this work horse of a chopper. In free flight mode, you can fly to chopper to your heart's content. To add to the fun and to kill boredom, there are Mini-guns emplaced on either side of the fuselage (the body of the aircraft), and even "targets" set up in the AO (area of operation).
While assuming the position of the gunner, the aircraft will keep the same heading and pitch that you left the pilots seat, so make sure if you want to stay above the target for maximum damage, simply put the chopper in a bank and then switch to the gunner's seat to light up your target.
over all this is a rather realistic look in to the world of Army Aviation. If you are looking for a game with great realism and lots of firepower, you will not be disappointed.
