Game Review (written by Spamfilter84) Added on: 04/12/2007
I first played this game many years ago when I was still fairly young. The controls weren’t too bad, but you didn’t get very much control in the air after you hit the top of a hill at high speeds. On my runs the cops were usually sitting about in the middle of my jump and usually resulted in a pretty big fine. The opposing cars were generally pretty stupid with the exception of the odd one that managed to keep you blocked.

The races do get a bit repetitive after a while and it’s pretty easy to get lax about the upcoming track so you would occasionally nitro into a fairly sharp turn. This does make for good entertainment for people watching however. There is also the occasional turn that comes up while your car is flying at the top of the screen. Though there are few things better than flying over the guy that had been in the lead on the last straightaway. It’s even better if you manage to land on him as well. The sides of the track change to fit the area that you are racing in as well.
I believe that there is an upgrade shop in between races, and you buy your upgrades

using money that you win from the races. Some of the upgrades are definitely more important than others, depending on your driving style. You lose the money to fines that you get during the races, so it’s best if you can avoid speeding past the photo-radar cars. You also have to pay for damages I believe, so you don’t want to pinball between the computer cars in the early stages of a race, or boost your car into the computer at the end. I did this a lot my first few times playing and even managed to get a few cars bouncing around and into each other.
It’s a very fun game and fairly easy to pick up, but it does definitely get harder the farther on that you go. I would give it maybe 7 out of 10, because while fun, like I said before, it does get boring if you play for too long at once. Its fun for a classic game and you can just play a few races at a time if you want, but it can get addictive.
