Game Review 1 (written by Sinistradian) Added on: 02/10/2009
This game was highly popular back in the mid eighties. This game came out right around the time of the movie Iron Eagle. I remember feeling like that kid in the movie when I loaded this game up and couldn’t wait to play it. I remember being a kid and playing it for hours.
It had the feel of a real flight simulator and was very addicting. The graphics were top notch, at least back then, and the game controls were dead on. There were various missions you could fly, all with different objectives that were sometimes very difficult and challenging.
I remember the hardest thing about the game was landing.
The dog fighting was really cool too. You could lock on to your targets and fire missiles and watch them blow up. There were also lots of different options for other weapons as well. Cluster bombs, stinger missiles, rail guns, turrets, ect.
The Heads Up Display was the only thing that was a complaint in my book. It was really hard to read and confusing at times. The training missions were a good way to start out learning how to fly. It would have been nice to add a few other planes to fly but I’m sure the main reason that they did not incorporate that in to the game was because of the memory.

game had a few sequels as well.
If you like retro games or flight simulators you should definitely download F15 Strike Eagle and give it a try. You will love it!

Game Review 2 (written by Encantoire) Added on: 11/28/2006
Playing this game means that you have to be totally in the DOS environment. But that was in the golden days. The graphics of this game is decent for its time. Par graphics for the environment that provide moderate to good interaction - SAM site, turrets, enemy planes.
The gameplay is not really challenging since you can just launch chaffs and evade missiles easy. Destroying targets is not too challenging. However, instrument panel is nicely set-up and it is very close to the real F 15 E.
Overall, I would rate this game 7/10 for its time. Decent graphics, gameplay ok, difficulty - easy, sound uses internal speakers. Furthermore, when I played this game back then, my computer kept crashing -- maybe due to errors and bugs. I would think those glitches are fixed by now. But this game is still a taker. Avid sims fan -- this is a must try.

People that downloaded F15 Strike Eagle also downloaded the following games:

F-15 Strike Eagle II F-15 Strike Eagle III
Strike Commander Lemmings
Lemmings F-16: Combat Pilot
