Game Review (written by Lordsuzaku) Added on: 06/08/2007
This game is a traditional battleship game. It is of course, quite old, this unfortunately makes it rather behind on graphics. However, the core gameplay is fantastic. Taking shots at other ships is always interesting, but sometimes the game can lag and cause multiple ships to do random things. This is possible due to the rather antiquated AI.
Of course, this means that shots miss often and your aim needs to be done carefully. It really makes me think about the older days when I used to play "Battleships" with my little brother.

The key thing is to use your forces right. I think they punish you too heavily for minor casualties, because just like in real life, every little

ship is important. Then I can be rather funny in some scenarios when you have one huge ship and have to take on a huge fleet of small ships. I got to charge them down, and without worrying about casualties, I was able to tear through them easily.
That was definitely a high point. The slow pace just keeps recurring and proves to be a problem for me though. I'm far used to other games with a faster pace and very little time to react. This tends to be good for strategists, but I get really tired of waiting for the time to end.
Then there were a few scenarios that really were too hard or too easy. There were few that were "just right" for me. Often, I found that my fleet was wiped out by superior numbers or a really unfair advantage. This tired me out. Customizing the ship was rather interesting. It is rather close to the old, "Indycar" game, this allowed for funky decals and proper weapons. Otherwise, my ship would've been rather boring and generic.
Aside from that, the two player mode was funny. It was executed in a rather rushed way. This made it seem really sloppy at parts and made it a bit choppy and poor at some points in the game. Of course, the old graphics and strange gameplay made it funny for us to play. Still, this is a game that could be ignored for two player fun. Overall, this is a ship game for fanatics and old-school gamers.

The game is quite old school, but with game shaving no meaning now-a-days, this brings back the gaming sensation.

Good game. I'd suggest it to anyone. It brought back memories of playing games like this growing up. I hope everyone else enjoys this game as much as I did.
